Pt. 1 Rediscovering God – Unlearning Old Beliefs

From Rituals to Relationship – Breaking Free from Religious Routines

For years, I viewed my relationship with God as a series of strict routines and rituals. Every morning at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m., I would wake up for a set hour of prayer, believing that missing this time would make me a failure in God’s eyes. I fasted frequently, and each missed practice brought a wave of guilt. I thought if I didn’t follow these exact structures, I wasn’t showing God how much I loved Him.

From Performance to Presence

Over time, I realized these routines weren’t necessarily bringing me closer to God. They had become tasks to complete rather than heart-driven expressions. But as I’ve grown on my journey, I’ve come to see that Love isn’t confined to religious rituals. Love is with me every day, in every moment, and Love desires a genuine relationship, not one rooted in performance.

Finding Love in the Everyday

Now, I pray throughout the day—in the car, while I work, and in everyday moments. It’s a beautiful conversation with no beginning, no forced language and unending. No longer do I feel I need to “prove” my love by performing. I feel closer to God than ever, experiencing Love’s presence in the ebb and flow of my daily life. This transformation from rigid practices to a heart-to-heart connection has been liberating, allowing me to connect with God, who is Love in ways that feel genuine and true.

Conclusion

If you’ve ever felt confined by routines in your faith, know that God’s love isn’t dependent on performance. He’s not waiting for you to follow rituals to prove your devotion. Instead, Love is present in every moment, inviting you to experience the simplicity of doing life together.

Reflection

• Think about any routines or practices you might be following out of a sense of obligation rather than genuine connection. Are there areas where you feel pressure to “perform” in your spiritual life?

• What would it look like to invite Love into the ordinary moments of your day? Reflect on ways to cultivate a relationship with God that feels authentic, even in small, everyday interactions.

• How might letting go of performance-based spirituality change the way you experience God?

Pt. 2 Rediscovering God – Unlearning Old Beliefs

Deconstructing Fear – Walking in Truth and Overcoming Deception

Starting my awakening journey was both empowering and frightening. I had been taught to fear deception, constantly on guard against being led astray. The notion that “even the very elect could be deceived” loomed over me, making me question if my path was right or if I was walking into a trap.

Trusting God’s Guidance over Fear

In 2015, Love whispered to me, assuring me that Truth would be revealed to me little by little, guiding me at a pace I could handle. Throughout this journey I am reminded that Love is more powerful than any fear, and I didn’t need to live in constant worry of being deceived. This journey has taught me to trust that Truth is greater than deception and that Love and Truth are stronger than any lies.

The Power of Community

Having a community of others on similar journeys has been invaluable. I’ve found strength in walking alongside others who are asking the same questions, validating my experiences, and challenging me to dig deeper. Together, we’ve been able to move past the fear of “getting it wrong” and step into the freedom of asking questions.

Conclusion

If you’re deconstructing beliefs rooted in fear, know that Love welcomes your questions. Love is not afraid of them, and Love delights in revealing truth in a way that brings freedom, not fear. You’re not alone, and there’s strength in embracing the journey one step at a time.

Reflection

• Are there fears you hold in your faith journey—such as fear of “getting it wrong” or being deceived? Take some time to consider where these fears might stem from.

• How does it feel to think of God as Love, a guide who walks patiently with you, rather than a distant figure waiting for you to make a mistake?

• What questions have you been afraid to ask about your faith? Give yourself permission to ask those questions and trust that God, who is Love, welcomes them.

Pt. 3 Rediscovering God – Unlearning Old Beliefs

Judgment to Compassion – Learning to Love People on Their Unique Journeys

As my understanding of God and myself has deepened, so has my compassion for others. I used to be highly judgmental, a reflection of the harsh judgment I placed on myself. But as I’ve let go of self-judgment, I’ve found my heart softening toward the people around me.

Seeing People Through Love’s Eyes

I now realize that everyone is on their own unique path with God. Just as He walks with me, revealing truth and guiding me through my questions, Love does the same for others. Who am I to judge their journey? God created each of us, and He doesn’t abandon anyone for being “too far gone.” He’s a God who loves unconditionally, no matter where we are in life.

A New Perspective on Love and Acceptance

This journey has given me a new love for humanity. I’ve come to see people not through the lens of their beliefs or actions, but through the lens of Love. It’s a shift that’s allowed me to embrace people as they are, recognizing that they are, like me, on a path of growth and discovery.

Conclusion

If you’ve struggled with judgment toward yourself or others, remember that we’re all on a unique journey, and Love is with each of us, guiding and loving us along the way. When we release judgment, we open ourselves to a deeper love and acceptance that reflects God’s heart for humanity.

Reflection

• Reflect on your own journey and how it has shaped who you are. How might seeing your journey as unique help you to view others’ journeys with compassion?

• Are there areas where you feel judgment—toward yourself or others? Consider ways to release these judgments and embrace acceptance, trusting that Love is present in everyone’s path.

• How does recognizing that God, (who is the very Being of Love) created everyone in his image and likeness impact your perspective on others?

Pt. 4 Rediscovering God – Unlearning Old Beliefs

Redefining Purpose – Discovering the Freedom to Live Fully Each Day

For so long, I believed that purpose was a single, monumental task—something I was created to accomplish in life. I thought that when I found that “one thing,” I’d finally feel fulfilled. But over time, I’ve realized that purpose isn’t about a specific role, job, or destination. It’s not something I have to chase; it’s something I carry within me every day.

Purpose as Who We Are, Not What We Do

Purpose isn’t a destination or achievement. It’s who I am at my core. It’s woven into the very fabric of my being, reflecting Love’s divine design. I’ve learned that purpose is about being true to who God created me to be—loving, encouraging, and uplifting others. This revelation has shifted my perspective, showing me that I can live in purpose every day, no matter where I am, no matter what situation or circumstance presents itself nothing has the power to stop me from being who I am.

Finding Fulfillment in Every Season

There was a time when I felt unfulfilled in my work, feeling like it lacked purpose. But I now understand that wherever I am, there’s purpose in it simply because I’m there. Each season and every space I occupy has meaning. I no longer feel the need to reach some far-off destination to feel purposeful. Instead, I can live fully in the present–embodying the love, kindness, and encouragement I was created to bring, just by being…me.

The Freedom of Walking in Purpose Daily

Embracing purpose as part of my identity has been incredibly freeing. I no longer wait for the “perfect” job, title, or calling to feel fulfilled. I can wake up each day knowing that by simply being who I am, I’m walking in purpose. This understanding has lifted the pressure to search for purpose outside myself, allowing me to find beauty and fulfillment in every moment.

Conclusion

If you’re feeling lost or unfulfilled, know that purpose isn’t a distant goal—it’s part of who you are. God has designed you with love and intention, and as you embrace your unique qualities and live authentically, you’ll find that purpose flows naturally from you. Each day holds the potential for purpose when we understand that it’s not something to achieve, but something to live.

Reflection

• Think about times when you’ve felt pressured to “find” your purpose. How would it feel to view purpose as something that flows from who you are, rather than something to achieve?

• Where are you right now in life, and what unique qualities can you bring to this season? Reflect on how you can live in purpose by being true to yourself, regardless of external roles or titles.

• Consider how redefining purpose in this way might free you from waiting for fulfillment and allow you to experience purpose daily.

“Who is this for?”

A gentle whisper rested on my heart: ‘Who is this for?’

Writing has been my expression for so long, whether through journaling, books, blogs, or social media posts. However, there’s a revelation that has quietly grown within me. In the process of sharing, I’ve held back, revealing only what I thought others could handle. I’ve concealed a part of myself, locking her away and tucking the key out of sight.

Initially, it doesn’t start that way. I begin by pouring out freely, sharing with Papa, and allowing Him to share with me. Yet, when it comes time to share with the world, I find myself critiquing, and censoring. The essence becomes diluted, no longer the pure expression that flowed from my heart to His or from His heart to mine.

Today serves as a reminder—it’s for me first. Moving forward, I’ve decided to write without worry, without fear.

This is my journey.

So, who is this for?

This is for me, first! ♡

Daughter, Live!

Daughter,

As I look upon the masterpiece of your existence, I want you to hear the whispers of my heart. “Daughter, live.” I fashioned you for so much more than the weight you’ve carried. I’m profoundly sorry for the suffering you’ve endured, the wrongs inflicted upon you, and the pain etched into your soul.

In the midst of your hurt, I extend an invitation. Come to me, lay down the burdens of your heart. Release the pain, the hurt, and any lingering unforgiveness. I long to cradle you in my love, to heal the wounds that ache within. Your healing is not just a wish; it’s a promise I hold for you.

My desire for you is nothing short of abundance—a life overflowing with joy, peace, and purpose. You are my cherished creation, and I speak life over you. Let my words echo in the depths of your being, breathing renewed strength into every fiber of your existence.

So, my precious one, heed the call. Come, let me wrap you in the warmth of my love. Embrace the healing I offer, and step into the fullness of the life I have designed uniquely for you.

With unwavering love,

Papa

If you’re curious about the prophetic artwork featured on my welcome page, it was created in September 2019 by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art. Feel free to explore the accompanying prophetic word on the Dyed4you Art website by clicking here.

The inspiration behind commissioning Meghan Williams to create the prophetic portrait titled “Daughter, Live!” stemmed from a desire for an artistic expression that could speak of my journey of healing and hope through the transformative power of Jesus. At the time my blog was titled mydaughter-live.

Psalm 118:17 (VOICE), resonates: “I will not die. I will live. I will live to tell about all the Eternal has done.” This verse serves as a reminder and declaration of the inherent value of my life. My story unfolded from one of trauma and abuse into one of transformation and hope. This scripture stands as a testament to my decision to break free from the shackles of my past and choose to live. Now, it fuels my passion to share the incredible work that God has done for me, reaching out to those who may find themselves in the same place I once was.

This Moment

Here in Your presence

Time stands still

I close my eyes

Nothing else matters

I’m in this moment with You

Pause

Everything stops

Silence surrounds me

I refuse to rush

Let the world continue on with its fast pace

I will not fast-forward

I will not press play

I’ll remain still

Aware of Your presence

Surrounded by Your beauty

Enveloped in this moment

Here with You
